Tinubu Accepts Resignation of Science and Technology Minister Geoffrey Nnaji

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has accepted the resignation of Geoffrey Uche Nnaji, the Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology, following allegations leveled against him.


Nnaji, who was appointed in August 2023, tendered his resignation in a letter addressed to the President, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to serve the nation. He claimed that he had become a target of blackmail by political opponents.


In response, President Tinubu acknowledged Nnaji’s contributions to national development and wished him success in his future endeavors.


The development was disclosed in a statement issued on Monday, October 7, 2025, by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy.
