Troops Arrest Terrorist Ammunition Courier in Zamfara

Troops of 1 Brigade, Sector 2, Operation Fansan Yamma, have apprehended a 25-year-old ammunition courier, Shamsiyya Ahadu, in possession of 764 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition and six magazines intended for delivery to terrorist kingpin Bello Turji's camp. The arrest occurred on December 28, 2024, in the Badarawa area of Shinkafi Local Government Area, Zamfara State.

Shamsiyya was arrested alongside her accomplice, Ahmed Husaini, a motorcycle rider. The operation was based on an intelligence report about terrorist logistics moving along the Kware-Badarawa road in Shinkafi LGA. Acting on the information, troops swiftly established a roadblock, leading to the successful apprehension of the suspects.


The suspects are currently undergoing investigation by relevant authorities.

Operation Fansan Yamma remains committed to dismantling terrorist networks and preventing the illegal movement of arms and ammunition within its area of operations. The command has called on the public to continue providing credible information that could lead to the arrest of terrorists and their collaborators.

In a statement, the operation expressed appreciation for the ongoing local support it receives, which has been instrumental in fulfilling its mandate to restore peace and security in the region.
