
Troops Neutralize Two Bandits, Recover Arms in Plateau State
Troops of 3 Division/Operation SAFE HAVEN have neutralized two armed bandits and recovered a cache of weapons and other items in a successful intelligence-led raid on a suspected hideout in Teng Mountain/Forest, Qua’an Pan Local Government Area (LGA) of Plateau State.
The operation, conducted on May 12, 2025, is part of continued offensive efforts to rid the Joint Operations Area of criminal elements. According to military sources, the troops made contact with the bandits and overpowered them through superior firepower, resulting in the deaths of two suspects.
Subsequent exploitation of the area led to the recovery of several items, including:
One AK-47 rifle
One AK-47 magazine
One fabricated rifle capable of firing 7.62mm (Special) ammunition
Seven rounds of 7.62mm (Special) ammunition
Four mobile phones
Two motorcycles
Cash sum of One Hundred and Fifty-Seven Thousand, Nine Hundred Naira (N157,900)
The recovered arms and ammunition are currently in military custody, while the mobile phones are undergoing forensic examination to aid in tracking and apprehending other members of the criminal network.
Operation SAFE HAVEN has reassured the public of its commitment to sustaining relentless offensive actions against criminals in the region and maintaining security across Plateau State and adjoining areas.
