Troops of Operation HADIN KAI Neutralize Boko Haram Insurgents in Sambisa Forest
Troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) have launched a renewed offensive against Boko Haram terrorists in the Sambisa Forest, successfully neutralizing multiple insurgents during an operation conducted on May 11, 2025.
The operation targeted Ladin Buttu, a notorious terrorist enclave within the forest. According to military sources, troops engaged the insurgents in a fierce gun battle and, through superior firepower and tactical maneuvers, neutralized five terrorists. In the aftermath, troops recovered five fully loaded AK-47 rifle magazines along with other military ordnance.
Further exploitation of the area revealed trails of blood along the insurgents' withdrawal paths, suggesting that additional terrorists sustained gunshot wounds while fleeing the encounter. Ladin Buttu is a strategically significant location for Boko Haram, often used to coordinate logistics and movement within the forest.
The leadership of Operation HADIN KAI commended the troops for their gallantry and professionalism, emphasizing that the success reflects the recent operational directives of the Chief of Army Staff aimed at intensifying offensive operations across all theatres.
The operation marks another step forward in the military’s commitment to dismantling remaining terrorist strongholds in the North-East and restoring lasting peace to the region.
