Troops of Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, working alongside the Nigeria Police Force, have thwarted a suspected bandit attack and rescued three kidnapped victims along the Dandume–Sheme Road in Katsina State.

The operation was launched after residents alerted security forces to the presence of armed terrorists along the route. The joint team promptly deployed to the area and engaged the attackers, who reportedly fled into nearby bushes with gunshot injuries.

During a subsequent search of the area, the troops rescued three victims identified as 58-year-old Mutairu Adamu, 25-year-old Yusufa Habibu and 22-year-old Aminu Musa.

Two vehicles abandoned by the fleeing criminals were also recovered. They were identified by registration numbers FTA 702 XB and EPE 706 XB.

The rescued victims are receiving necessary care and undergoing assessment before being reunited with their families.

Security forces have intensified operations along the Dandume–Sheme axis to protect residents and commuters and prevent further attacks.

The operation further demonstrates the ongoing military-police collaboration against banditry and other criminal activities in Katsina State.
