UPDATE: TWO SOLDIERS, SEVERAL BOKO HARAM INSURGENTS KILLED IN DAMASAK, BORNO
Two soldiers alongside several Boko Haram insurgents were killed on Saturday during an attack on Damasak town in Borno state, the Nigeria Army has said.
Recall Eons Intelligence reported that Boko Haram attacked Damasak town on Saturday evening, targeting International aid facilities, and setting them ablaze.
The gallant troops, however, thwarted the attack on the town and engaged the terrorists in a battle that lasted for hours.
Giving an update on the encounter, the army spokesperson, Brigadier General Mohammed Yerima said two soldiers lost their lives while an officer and two soldiers were injured.
Meanwhile, the troops killed at least 7 Boko Haram fighters on Sunday along Ngwom-Mafa to Maiduguri road.

The criminals who were lying in wait to ambush innocent commuters on the road ambushed and neutralised by troops on massive clearance patrol.
“In the encounter, seven terrorists were neutralised while four AK-47 rifles were recovered along with several other items.
“The terrorists laid the ambush with the intent to harm NA troops and other innocent commuters. They, however, ran out of luck as they were instead trapped and neutralised in their own web,” the army spokesman said.
