WOMAN, THREE CHILDREN BURNT TO DEATH IN FIRE OUTBREAK
A woman and her three children, including a month old child, were burnt to death in a fire outbreak in their house in Nkangbe, Niger state.
The incident occurred around 11.30pm yesterday and razed for about three hours, destroying the whole building.
The husband of the deceased woman was said to have been away to Abuja when the incident happened.
However, the other wife identified as Fati, and her two children, were rescued with severe injuries and are currently in the hospital.
One of the neighbours identified as Musa Ibrahim said they called the Fire Service immediately they noticed flames coming from the house.
Musa said they tried their best to rescue the women and the children but could not as the fire was very intense.
“We tried as much as we could but we couldn’t get inside. With the help of the fire service, we rescued the second wife through the window and she was wounded and had some burns,” Musa said.
