Hamas Leadership Hit: Israel Eliminates Yahya Sinwar in Gaza Operation

Israel has announced the killing of Hamas leader , who was behind the October 7 attack that left over 1,200 people dead, including 46 Americans. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called Sinwar's death a "heavy blow" to Hamas, stating it's an "important landmark in the decline of the evil rule of Hamas" .

Sinwar was considered a mass murderer, responsible for heinous acts of terrorism, and had been hunted by Israel since the start of the Gaza war. His death comes after a year-long pursuit by Israeli troops, who finally eliminated him in an operation in the southern Gaza Strip.

This development comes weeks after Israel assassinated Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah in Lebanon, and other Iran-backed militant commanders have also been killed in recent months.
