BANDITS KILL SIX RESIDENTS, ABDUCT SEVERAL OTHERS IN GUSAU LGA OF ZAMFARA

Armed bandits have killed six residents and abducted several others in Rijiya community, Gusau LGA of Zamfara State.

This comes barely two weeks after armed bandits invaded Gurbin Baure community, Zurmi LGA of Zamfara State, in a midnight ambush, killing four residents and rustling several animals.

Sources say the attack occurred around 12.30pm on Sunday afternoon November 7.

Eons Intelligence gathered that the assailants stormed the community in broad daylight when most residents were in their farms, shooting sporadically at anyone sighted during the attack.

Six persons were killed and the bandits went ahead to kidnap an unspecified number of locals after the shootings.

Less than two weeks ago, Eons Intelligence reported that armed bandits killed not less than 20 security personnel in an ambush in Shinkafi LGA of the State.

There has been a surge in banditry attacks in the North-West in recent weeks, notably in Zamfara State, leaving many dead and injured, properties destroyed, and cattle rustled.

This prompted the Zamfara State Government to shut all telecommunication services in the State.
