IF NIGERIA BREAKS, YORUBA PEOPLE WILL BE IN BLOODY WAR FOR 100 YEARS – BISI AKANDE
A former Governor of Osun State, Chief Bisi Akande on Monday, September 28, warned the agitators of the Odua Republic to bury the idea as it may result to 100 years of bloody civil war in Yoruba land.
Akande gave the warning while speaking at the commissioning of Base 1 Bricks Hotel in Ibadan to mark the 50th birthday of a former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Adebayo Adelabu.
Akande, a former Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, reiterated that allowing Yoruba to break from Nigeria might lead to bloodshed and civil war that would annihilate the people.
“Those agitating for the Yoruba nation should have a rethink. This country must remain united to save it from war.
“Yoruba will be in war for another 100 years if Nigeria is allowed to break,” he said.
He stressed that Nigeria is a product of war, adding that the country came into existence after Yoruba people had gone into 100 years of war.

Recall that the Odua Republic agitators have vowed that they will stage a public protest on October 1, Nigeria’s 60 Independence Day to intensify their demand that Yoruba people want to stand as a nation.
According to the former Governor, the united nature of Nigeria makes most African countries and the western world envy her.
Akande alleged that Francophone countries across the world have been praying that Nigeria should break because they are not comfortable about the unity in the nation.
“Those tormenting Nigeria are doing so because they are products of failed states. It is a difficult task to stop crimes, particularly in a corrupt society.
“Now that some Nigerians are talking about breaking because of difficulties, they didn’t know that a man who can not endure will collapse and die. Only an enduring country can stay,” he said.
