AMOTEKUN NABS 15 ILLEGAL GOLD MINERS IN ONDO

Operatives of the Western Security Network (WNSN) codenamed Amotekun have arrested 15 illegal gold miners in Ondo State. 


Eons Intelligence gathered that the suspects were arrested from different locations in Owo forest Reserves in the state. 


Adetunji Adeleye, the Ondo commander of Amotekun revealed the names of the arrested persons as follows: Shuaibu Yahaya, Habbi Usman, Kabiru Waheed, Mohammed Nurudeen, Mohammed Sulaman, Ali Mustapha, Ismaila Wahab, Musa Zeehed, Gabbar Musa, Sule Adamu, Abba Suleman, Usman Kabiru, Yahaya Danladi, and Usman Ali Zekeri.


While speaking to journalists on Sunday in Akure, Adeleye said the illegal miners were apprehended while following Governor Rotimi Akeredolu's instructions mandating all illegal occupiers of forest Reserves in the state to leave


One of the arrested suspects identified as Mr Shuaibu from Kebbi State told journalists he started the business of illegal mining in 2019. 

“I have been performing the act since 2019. I came looking for a job and I was introduced by one of our leaders who is at large. He brought me to Ondo State for this job because I wanted to make some money," he said.

“After digging very dip, we got the black gold and we separated the sand from the gold with a flat sieve with a rug. The rug will do the separation as we pour the sand on it."
