32 Artillery Brigade Dismantles Terrorist Cell in Ondo, Recovers Weapons and Drugs
Troops of the 32 Artillery Brigade, Nigerian Army, stationed at the Forward Operating Base (FOB) Auga in Ondo State, successfully neutralized two suspected terrorists during a tactical operation along the Akunu-Auga road on February 14, 2026.
The operation was initiated following credible intelligence about the movement of the suspects in the area. Acting swiftly, the troops intercepted the criminals, leading to a firefight in which two terrorists were neutralized, while others fled with suspected gunshot wounds. The operation was carried out in collaboration with the Ondo State Security Network Agency and local vigilantes.
Items recovered from the encounter include one AK-47 rifle with two magazines, 61 rounds of ammunition, three mobile phones, a jackknife, a torchlight, suspected illicit drugs, charms, and N39,000 in cash.
This success highlights the Nigerian Army's commitment to maintaining security in Ondo State by denying criminal elements the freedom to operate. The Brigade continues to intensify patrols and operations to secure the area and collaborate with other security agencies to ensure the safety of residents.
