6 BRIGADE TROOPS ARREST SUSPECTED BANDITS, LOGISTICS SUPPLIER IN TARABA STATE

In a significant boost to the fight against crime and terrorism, troops from the 6 Brigade Nigerian Army and Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) have successfully apprehended three suspected bandits and a key logistics supplier with ties to terrorist groups operating within and outside Taraba State.

According to Captain Olubodunde Oni, Acting Assistant Director of 6 Brigade Army Public Relations, the arrests were made possible by actionable intelligence.

On October 7, 2024, a targeted operation was conducted in the Andamin general area of Karim Lamido LGA, resulting in the capture of three suspected bandits in Jeb-Jeb, a border community between Taraba and Plateau States.

The suspects, identified as Adamu Abubakar, Mohammed Bello, and Musa Adamu, are allegedly responsible for various criminal activities, including armed robberies, kidnappings, and violent assaults on communities in the area.

This breakthrough is part of the 6 Brigade's broader strategy to combat inter-state criminality within its operational jurisdiction.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects have been active in the state for several years. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend other members of the criminal syndicate.

In a separate operation, a key logistics supplier for a notorious terrorist group in Taraba State was arrested in Bunka village, Lau LGA.

Musa Inusa is suspected of providing essential supplies and materials to terrorists operating in the area. His capture is expected to disrupt the supply chain and weaken the group's operational capabilities.

Recovered items from Inusa include:

- A jackknife

- N2,460

- Wraps of substance suspected to be Indian hemp

- Other illicit drugs

Investigations are ongoing to determine the full extent of Inusa's involvement with criminals and terrorists in the state.
