The Commissioner of Police Lagos State, CP Hakeem Odumosu, has ordered an investigation into the violent attacks and theft allegation against the policemen captured in a viral video.

Recall, on Friday March 12, two policemen were attacked by hoodlums for allegedly stealing mobile phones at computer village Ikeja, Lagos State.

The Police PRO stated that the HP Electronics Company's Taskforce on piracy, alongside some security personnel, were at the shop located at No 30, Awolowo Road, Opposite Glass House, Ikeja, Lagos, on a routine operation against piracy and sub-standard products in the market when some hoodlums suddenly attacked them.

He said they created a scene, calling the policemen thieves and passing uncomplementary comments on the security personnel.

The police team was chased away by the hoodlums and did not allow the operation to succeed due to their criminal tendencies.

The State's Police Commissioner, CO Hakeem Odumosu, applauded the professionalism and maturity of the policemen to avert chaos in the area.

He warned residents of the State to desist from attacking security operatives either on or off duty. The Police boss also vowed that those peddling fake news would be brought to face the law.
