ANGRY YOUTHS BURN POLICE STATION OVER KIDNAPPINGS, KILLINGS IN EDO STATE
A police station in Agenebode, Etsako East local government area, Edo State, was set ablaze by angry youths on Sunday. The youths alleged that the police were shielding suspected kidnappers and killers.
The incident was sparked by the kidnapping of a young boy who wasn't released despite ransom payment. Community youths tracked and arrested a suspect, handing him over to police. However, dissatisfied with the police handling, the youths stormed the station, took the suspect, and followed him to the kidnappers' hideout.
There, they discovered shallow graves containing human remains and body parts. Enraged, the youths burned down the hideout, nearby businesses, and eventually, the police station.
