FIVE KILLED AS POLICE BATTLE SUSPECTED IPOB MEMBERS IN GUN DUEL

The operatives of the Abakaliki State Police Command have neutralized five suspected members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) in a gun duel.

The information available indicates that the hoodlums on 26th June 2024 at about 2130hrs invaded the police station in a blue Sienna bus and opened fire on the station. The operatives on duty swiftly engaged them in a gun duel and called on the reinforcement over the attack.

Consequently, the police on duty overpowered the hoodlums and caused them to retreat. The hoodlums who also set one of the police vehicles ablaze, shooting sporadically in the air, retreated to Odomoke Ishieke Market where the military and other police reinforcement served them another gun-resisting attack which resulted in the death of about five of the IPOB members.

Meanwhile, the Sienna bus used by the hoodlums and their corpses had been taken to the state police headquarters.
