GUNMEN ABDUCT TWO PERSONS IN OBAFEMI OWODE LGA OF OGUN
Gunmen on Saturday May 1 abducted two persons in Omu, a community near Ofada community, Obafemi Owode LGA of Ogun State.
Eons Intelligence gathered that the victims were whisked away when they went to visit their farm on Saturday.
Confirming the incident, the Ogun State Police PRO, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said security operatives have commenced a search to rescue the abductees and arrest their abductors.
As of the time of filing this report, the kidnappers are yet to demand for a ransom.
This incident comes three days after security operatives arrested some suspects in connection with the abduction of a community leader, Tajudeen Omotayo, and two students of the Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU).
Recall, on March 15, Eons Intelligence reported that the students were abducted while returning to their hall of residence in Olowu area of Yewa North Local Government Area, while Chief Omotayo was kidnapped about a week later on his way from a meeting in Ijebu-Ode.
The students regained their freedom on March 17.
Eons Intelligence has reported a number of abductions in Ogun State recently. On April 11, gunmen in Army uniform kidnapped a 13-year old boy in Abeokuta. Also, on April 1, armed men kidnapped three persons along Siun/Ajura road in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of the State.
Similarly, on April 11, two medical personnel, Dr. Adetola Oladunni, and Mrs. Olajide Durojaye, were abducted along Imeko/Abeokuta road, on their way to their duty posts at the General Hospital, Imeko.
