HOODLUMS RAZE POLICE STATION IN ABOH MBAISE, IMO STATE

Hoodlums on Thursday set ablaze a police station in Aboh Mbaise local government area of Imo state.


Orlando Ikekwo, the Imo State Police Public Relations Officer who confirmed the incident said no life was lost and no ammunition was taken. 


Eye witnesses told reporters that policemen on duty fled when they discovered that hoodlums were pouring an inflammable substance (believed to be petrol) around the station. 


Sources say the arsonists did not enter the police station and drove away after setting it on fire. 


Police officers in the East have been targeted for attacks by miscreants following the #ENDSARS protests. 


 On Wednesday, gunmen killed four police officers, razed a patrol van, and attacked two police stations in Anambra state.

A similar attack occurred on Tuesday when assailants invaded the Nigerian Police Divisional Headquarters, in Abayi Osisioma Ngwa, Aba in Abia state, killing two policemen.


A few weeks ago, hoodlums attacked and burned the Omoba Police Station in Isiala Ngwa local government area of Abia state.
