INTELLIGENCE ALERT: BOKO HARAM/ISWAP SPIES SPOTTED IN BORNO VILLAGES, RAISING FEARS OF POSSIBLE ATTACK

Intelligence available indicates that Boko Haram/ISWAP elements believed to be on a reconnaissance mission were spotted around Nigir Village which is about 10 km from Monguno village.

They are believed to be on a mission to make an assessment of civilian and military presence in the area with a view of launching attacks in the area.

Similarly. another unit of BH/ISWAP elements were spotted navigating through Bunarin within the axis of Nganzai LGA in a convoy of 5 vehicles with one mounted with an AA gun. As at 7 pm, the insurgents were still in the area as the AA Mounted vehicles developed mechanical faults and could not be immediately fixed.

Intelligence sources believe that they are also part of the coordinates reconnaissance and roving teams deployed ahead of a major planned attack in the area.

Eons Intelligence opines that while the people of the area are beginning to show some level of concern, a preemptive military operation with a view to destabilizing the operational plans of the insurgents will suffice. This will help to keep the area secured from the insurgents through this period.
