JOINT SECURITY OPERATIVES APPREHEND TERRORISTS, RECOVER WEAPONS IN KADUNA, KANO STATE
A joint security operations involving personnel of the police, military, and the Department of State Services (DSS) yielded the successful arrest of five insurgents in Kaduna and Kano State.
The information available indicates that the terrorists deployed Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) against the fighting forces of the government. One of the terrorists on a suicide jacket accounted for blowing himself up. Hence, three suspects were arrested in their hideout with the recovery of two suicide jackets, one AK-47 rifle, a pistol, and one laptop. Nonetheless, Police EOD diffused other IEDs within their apartment during the Kaduna raid.
Similarly, in Kano State, two suspects were also apprehended with the recovery of a pistol, 11 mobile phones, two hand grenades, one fully charged AK-47 magazine, two empty AK-47 magazines, and one Peugeot 307 car. An ID card belonging to a suspect that escaped was also found in their hideout.
