Security Forces Raid and Destroy IPOB/ESN Camp in Anambra
A joint security operation led by the Anambra State Police Command has dislodged members of the Eastern Security Network (ESN), the armed wing of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), during a raid on their camp in Aguluezechukwu, Aguata Local Government Area.
The coordinated operation, carried out in the early hours of Tuesday, involved troops from the 302 Artillery Regiment (General Support), 14 Field Engineer Regiment, operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS), and the Anambra Vigilante Group (Agunechemba).
According to security sources, the exercise lasted for over five hours. Several of the militants reportedly sustained gunshot wounds while fleeing, and their base was destroyed. A white Lexus 470 SUV and a cache of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were recovered during the raid.
Authorities confirmed that the area has since been stabilized, with continuous monitoring to prevent any resurgence of criminal activity.
In a statement, the Anambra State Police Command assured residents of its “unwavering commitment to combating insecurity and restoring lasting peace across the state.”
