LAGOS POLICE APPREHEND CAR SNATCHING SYNDICATES

The operatives of Lagos State Police Command have paraded a seven-man car snatching syndicate carrying out illegal activities between Lagos and Kwara states


Available information indicates that six among the suspects paraded on 2nd July 2024 were arrested within the Lagos metropolis while one was arrested in Ilorin Kwara State.


Investigation revealed that two of the suspects who used military uniforms to snatch cars from motorists were booted out of the military in 2014 and 2017, respectively.


Items recovered from the suspects are military uniforms, military identification cards, and two firearms.


However, one of the suspects Amos Daniel who is a father of four was employed as a driver on June 23, 2024, but escaped with his employer’s Lexus car on the same day of resumption, while another suspect identified as Stephen Kesh-David specialises at stealing cars brought to him for repairs in Falomo, Lagos State.


Meanwhile, all cars stolen by these syndicates were 13. Two were recovered while one had been butchered and sold as spare parts.
