POLICE ARREST MAN FOR ALLEGEDLY TRAFFICKING TEENAGE GIRLS TO LIBYA IN OSUN

The operatives of Osun State Police Command have arrested a suspected human trafficker, Muideen Adebisi, while he was trying to move four teenage girls from Ile-Ife to Libya.


The information available indicates that the suspect had invited the victims to a birthday party in Ile-Ife, where he offered them food and drinks that made them sleep off for several hours.


Thereupon, the teenagers woke up and realized that they were in a strange environment where papers were being processed for them to travel to Tripoli, Libya's Federal Capital.

After being conscious of where they were, three among the quadruple maneuver for an escape finally realized they were in Kano State, and quickly put a phone call to their parents who swiftly informed the police about the situation.


Consequently, Mr. Adebisi who was interrogated insisted that the four girls willingly accepted to go to Libya to work and his brother who resides in Tripoli, instructed him to get girls and send them to a man in Kano who would take them to Libya. 


The suspect further informed the police of the huge number of girls he met at the man's residence in Kano, who was also processing their papers en route to Libya. 


Meanwhile, the three teenagers have been reunited with their families while the fourth girl's whereabouts is currently unknown.
