TROOPS RESCUE KIDNAPPED COMMISSIONER FOR WOMEN AFFAIRS IN CROSS RIVER
Commissioner for Women Affairs in Cross River state, Prof. Gertrude Njar has been rescued by troops of the 13 Brigade deployed for Operation Akpakwu in Calabar.
Recall that Eons Intelligence reported the kidnap of the Commissioner on 1st February 2023 who was forcefully taken out of her official car in the Calabar South area.
Following her abduction, the kidnappers demanded a ransom of N150 million. The gallant troops intelligently tracked the commissioner's whereabouts and tactically laid an ambush for the kidnappers around Peter Effiong Creek, Messembe, and Jebs. In the ensuing melee, the criminals abandoned the victim and escaped into the creeks.
Meanwhile, the troops are on the trail of the fleeing criminals.
