UNKNOWN GUNMEN KILL SECURITY GUARD ON BENIN-AUCHI ROAD
Unknown gunmen on Wednesday, January 20, killed a private security guard identified as Odion Omoera while commuting on the Benin-Auchi road, Edo State.
Eons Intelligence gathered that the assailants trailed the victim to the road around 7am and shot him at close range.
Sources confirmed that the deceased made frantic efforts to escape but could not because of the high degree of injuries sustained from the gunshots.
Eons Intelligence gathered that the Benin/Auchi road have become notorious for criminal activities such as kidnapping, robbery and killings of commuters.
On December 4, 2020, gunmen attacked several commuters on this road. Two persons were killed while about 20 others were abducted.
Due to the incessant cases of insecurity in this region, Eons Intelligence experts advise commuters to always maintain situational awareness and not to ply the road at odd hours.
It is imperative for authorities to deploy appropriate security resources to guarantee safety of commuters on the road.
