109 SUSPECTS ARRESTED FOR LOOTING WAREHOUSE IN JOS

The Operation Safe Sahel Haven (OPSH), on Sunday, October 25, paraded about 109 persons suspected to have looted a warehouse in the Plateau State Agriculture Development Programme (PADP) in early hours of Sunday. 


The security operatives were deployed to restore law and normalcy in Plateau and some parts of Bauchi and Kaduna States. 


The suspects, which comprised of 97 males and 12 females, had defied the 24-hour curfew imposed by the State Government on Saturday, October 24. 


The mob broke into the PADP warehouse located at the Dogon Dutse Area of Jos North Local Government Area of the State and carted away bags of fertilizers and other farming tools. 


Commander of the OPSH, Major General Chukwuemeka Okonkwo, while parading the suspects at the OPSH headquarters in Jos, said the suspects were apprehended with items looted at the warehouse. 


He said the suspects destroyed the warehouse and stole fertilizers, chemicals generators, and other farming items.
