40 GUESTS FEARED ARRESTED AS ARMED EFCC OPERATIVES ALLEGEDLY STORM HOTEL IN ENUGU
Reports indicate that several people were left injured as armed EFCC operatives stormed a hotel in Enugu, opening fire to disperse a youth conference.
Sources disclose that the operatives stormed Castle Majestic Hotel in Ogui, Enugu State, in Hilux vehicles around 2am on Friday midnight, shooting sporadically, and causing tension in the community.
It was gathered that the operatives stormed into guests’ rooms, arrested several persons, before proceeding to disrupt a youth gathering at the conference room. Online sources say not less than 40 guests were arrested by the operatives who stormed the hotel in five vehicles including two Hilux vans.
Several persons sustained injuries as they scampered for safety, however, none came from the gunshots fired by the EFCC operatives.
It is pertinent to mention that the Anti-Graft agency has been under fire in recent weeks following their alleged invasion into some hotels in the South-West, where they allegedly harass and arrest defenceless civilians.
On Monday, EFCC agents from Ibadan entered Abeokuta, raiding at least three hotels and two nightclubs.
