Abductors Demand N100 Million Ransom for ECWA Pastor in Kaduna
Gunmen have demanded a ransom of N100 million for the release of Pastor Samson Ndah Ali, a 30-year-old cleric with the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA), who was abducted from his residence in Maraba Aboro, Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Monday, April 8, 2025, when the assailants reportedly stormed the pastor’s home around 12:45 a.m. and whisked him away to an unknown location.
According to Daily Post, the church's financial secretary, Mallam Yusuf Ambi, confirmed the abduction and disclosed that he had been with the pastor the evening before the incident.
“I rushed to his compound, where he lives alone, and found the doors wide open. I searched every room, but he was nowhere to be found,” Ambi recounted.
He added that the kidnappers have since made contact with the church, demanding a ransom of N100 million for the cleric’s release. Negotiations, he said, are ongoing.
Pastor Ali, who hails from the Danji community in Ungwan Mailafiya, had reportedly been assigned to the local ECWA church less than two weeks before his abduction.
In response, a coordinated rescue effort involving the Nigerian Army, police, and Department of State Services (DSS) has been launched to locate and secure his release.
The motive behind the kidnapping remains unclear, but security agencies are intensifying efforts to track down the perpetrators and ensure the safe return of the abducted pastor.
