BORNO STATE GOVERNOR VISITS LOGUMANI AND APPROVED 500 RESETTLEMENT HOUSES.



The State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum, visited Logumani, a community in Ngala Local Government Area on Sunday, 12 June 2022.


During the visit, Zulu

approved the construction of 500 resettlement houses to accommodate returnees. 


Logumani residents were displaced as a result of the activities of Boko Haram insurgents for over seven years.


Residents of Logumani will receive support from the governor to rebuild their homes, which were damaged by insurgents. 


Zulum also ordered the State Rural Water Supply Agency (RUWASA) to build a new deep aquifer borehole to meet the water demands of IDPs coming home. 


During his visit, the Governor spoke with inhabitants of Logumani who had taken asylum in Dikwa town and discussed the logistics of reuniting them with their ancestors. 



Before Sunday's tour, Zulum had a close tour 

 to Kirawa town in Gwoza Local Government Area on Saturday, where he supervised the resettlement of over 2,500 households. 


The aim of the visit was based on reconstruction, supervising or allocating of newly built resettlement houses, distributing cash and food aid and supplying agricultural packs to farmers.


Amidst that Governor Zulum held several meetings with military commanders, volunteers, council chairmen and resident traditional heads, and community leaders to review security situations and deploy strengthening measures where needed.


However, the meeting was held with the former Commissioner of Agriculture, Engr. Bukar Talba and heads of relevant establishments of government involved with construction and reconstruction, provision of water, livelihoods and general human empowerment.
