COVID-19: JIGAWA WELCOMES 524 ALMANJIRIS DEPORTED FROM KANO
Jigawa State Government has received 524 almajiris deported from Kano state.
Earlier, as part of the efforts of Kano State Government to prevent the spread of Coronavirus, it begun the evacuation of almajiris back to their hometowns.
The almajiris were received by the State Governor, Alhaji Muhammad Badaru Abubakar, at the NYSC camp in Jigawa on Thursday, 23rd April.
In his statement he disclosed that, the almajiris would undergo critical medical screening before they are allowed back to their homes.
The Governor stated further that, the children would be provided with beds and food until they are confirmed free of Coronavirus.
However, Badaru said he has no intention of evacuating non indigene almajiri to their states as it could escalate the spread of Coronavirus.
As at 23rd April, Jigawa has recorded 2 cases.
