GUNMEN KIDNAP NASARAWA APC CHAIRMAN

Unknown gunmen have Kidnapped the chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State, Philip Shekwo.


Report says Shekwo was Kidnapped in his residence in Lafia, the State capital, around 11 pm on Saturday, November 21.


It was gathered that the armed men exchanged gunshots with the security aides of the APC chairman before taking him away.


The assailants reportedly took away some valuables and cash before leaving with the chairman.

The State Commissioner of Police, Dele Longe, also confirmed the incident to newsmen in Lafia.


CP Longe stated that security agencies had reacted swiftly by deploying personnel to different forest locations to secure the release of the APC chieftain.


The kidnappers were yet to establish contact with members of the APC chieftain as at the time of filing this report.


Kidnapping of high profiled individuals have become rampant in Lafia, the state capital and hometown of the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu.

In February, Jibrin Giza, a Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works in Nasarawa State, was also kidnapped in his Shabu residence. He was later released after paying ransom.
