IGP APPROVES NEW POLICE COMMISSIONERS FOR LAGOS, YOBE, BENUE STATES

Inspector-General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba has ordered the deployment of CP Alabi Abiodun Sylvester to Lagos State Police Command as the new Commissioner. He also approved the posting of Haruna Gabriel Garba and Tajudeen Akinwale Abass as Commissioners of Police, Yobe and Benue State Commands respectively.


Eons Intelligence had reported the recent promotion of these Officers by the Police Service Commission. Those recently promoted include 2 Deputy Inspectors-General of Police, 6 Assistant Inspectors-General of Police and 17 Commissioners of Police.


CP Alabi Abiodun, the new CP, Lagos State Command, has served in various capacities within the Force. He was an ACP, Police Mobile Force, Force Headquarters, Abuja; DCP Admin Taraba and Bayelsa Commands respectively. 


He was also a DCP, Operations, Ekiti State Command before his promotion to the rank of Commissioner of Police. Before now, he was serving as CP Administration, FCID Abuja.


CP Haruna Gabriel Garba holds a Masters Degree in International Relations from the University of Uyo. He was formerly a DCP SCID, Yobe State Command.


CP Akinwale Tajudeen Abass, the new CP, Benue State Police Command, was a former DCP State Criminal Investigations Department (SCID), at the Oyo and Ogun State Commands respectively. He also served as AC SCID, Delta State Command and later as Area Commander, Area C, Surulere, Lagos State Command.


In a Press Statement, signed by the FPRO, CP Frank Mbah, in Abuja on Friday, the IGP charged the newly posted officers to maintain and improve on the legacies of their predecessors on the areas of crime fighting and public safety.
