ISLAMIC CLERIC, 10 OTHERS KIDNAPPED IN SOKOTO ATTACKS
A gang of terrorists have kidnapped a Chief Imam and Ten other people at Gatawa village in Sabon Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
Eons intelligence gathered from local sources that Chief Imam, Aminu Garba was preparing to lead Juma’at congregational prayer at Gatawa Village when the criminals swooped in. He was immediately whisked away to an unknown destination, along with three others.
In another development, a group of heavily armed men also unleashed mayhem on road users along the Sabon Birni-Gatawa road on Saturday morning. The criminals reportedly shot three persons and abducted Seven others.

Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Sa’idu Ibrahim confirmed the incident to newsmen on Saturday. He said the injured victims were currently receiving medical attention and care at hospital in Wamakko.
According to Sa'idu Ibrahim, another gun shot victim, a woman got her leg amputated after being shot by the terrorists at Dama Village.
However, Spokesperson of the Sokoto Police Command, ASP Sanusi Abubakar responded by saying that he had not been properly briefed but would revert as soon as contacted the right quarters. An official Police Statement was not available as at the time of filing this report.
