LAGOS STATE GOVERNMENT ANNOUNCES TRAFFIC DIVERSION AT MARYLAND-MENDE UNDERPASS
The Lagos State Government has announced that Maryland/Mende Underpass will be closed from Tuesday to complete the Opebi/Ojota link bridge.
This was disclosed by Transportation Commissioner Frederic Oladeinde in a statement on Sunday.
He advised motorists to use the Ojota interchange to connect Maryland and its environs during the diversion, adding that alternative routes have been mapped out by the state's traffic management agency to ease motorist movement while the underpass is being rebuilt.
The Commissioner also urged motorists heading to the axis's inner streets to use Mobolaji Bank Anthony to access Emmanuel, Aderibigbe Shitta, and Adeoye Adeyemi Streets, while those heading to Mende and its environs can use Mobolaji Bank Anthony.
Similarly, the commissioner stated that the repairs of a section of the Lagos Bound lane at the Iyana Era/Badagry Expressway scheduled for September 17 have been postponed till further notice due to unforeseen circumstances, adding that the new date will be communicated to the public.
