LAGOS STATE JUDICIAL PANEL OF ENQUIRY POSTPONES SITTING

The Lagos State Judicial Panel of Enquiry set up to investigate cases of police brutality has postponed its sitting.

Chairman of the panel, Justice Doris Okuwobi, said the youth representatives did not show up for today’s sitting which led to its postponement.

“We announce the adjournment of the sitting for a week due to lack of quorum. Our sitting never commenced until the #EndSARS youth representatives were sworn in & definitely can not proceed in their absence due to recent developments," the panel announced in a statement via its official Twitter handle.

This comes 24 hours after a Federal High Court in Abuja granted the request of the Central Bank of Nigeria to freeze the accounts of some #ENDSARS protesters.

The CBN had obtained a court order to freeze the bank account of Bolatito Rachael Oduala alongside 19 others over their role during the #ENDSARS protest.
