Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya has congratulated the personnels attached to Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) on the high rate of success so far recorded in the fight against banditary and terrorism in the North Eastern part of Nigeria.
The COAS made this remark as a response to a major feat recorded by troops who repelled a combined force of Boko Haram and ISWAP fighters in an ambush at Pulka, recently.
Troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) deployed at 192 Battalion Foward Operations Base (FOB) depleted scores of Boko Haram and Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists in an ambush at Pulka in Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State.
Government Forces said the ambush was an Intelligence driven Operation precisively conducted in conjunction with members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), as well as local vigilantes.
In the aftermath of the Operation, four terrorists were reportedly neutralised and a number of arms recovered. These include: two AK 47 rifles, three AK 47 rifle magazines, one 36 Energa Hand Grenade and one Tear gas cannister.
The battle between the Government Forces and the terrorists took place at Rengye, an area reportedly notorious for being the terrorists "Crossing point".
Several other terrorists reportedly escaped with various level of injuries, leaving traces of blood behind, as they fled in disarray. The COAS also charged the Soldiers to keep spirits high and maintain the tempo as the war is far from won.
