NSCDC ARREST MAN CONVEYING 280KG OF CANNABIS AND DIAZEPAM TABLETS IN KEBBI STATE

The Kebbi State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) on Saturday arrested a man with 280Kg of Cannabis Sativa and Diazepam tablets.



The suspect, an Assistant Superintendent Cadre (ASC) II, with the NSCDC Sokoto Command, was arrested around 8.30pm when conveying the exhibits in a Peugeot 406 saloon car with registration number Lagos KSF 60 BE.



It was learnt that he was allegedly hired by the wife of a Major in the Nigerian Army in Sokoto to convey the illegal substances and would earn N100,000 for his service.



The illegal substances were hidden in 12 sacks. The Cannabis Sativa were concealed in two sacks and weighed 140Kg while the Diazepam tablets were hidden inside ten sacks and weighed 140kg too.
