Orsu Police Division Rebuilt After Gunmen’s Attack, CP Commissions Facility, Deploys Troops

The Commissioner of Police, Imo State Command, CP Aboki Danjuma, has commissioned the newly renovated Orsu Divisional Police Headquarters, marking a major step in strengthening security in the area. The facility, which had been previously destroyed by criminal elements, has been rebuilt with modern amenities, including barracks accommodations, to enhance operational effectiveness and personnel welfare.

To ensure sustained peace and security in Orsu, the Command has deployed well-equipped police personnel to the division. These officers will work in collaboration with the military, the Department of State Services (DSS), and local vigilante groups to reinforce security and maintain law and order in the region.

The commissioning ceremony was attended by key stakeholders, including Hon. Engr. Friday Ibekaeme, Executive Chairman of Orsu LGA; Hon. Francis Uche Agabige, Member representing Orsu in the Imo State House of Assembly; and other principal officials of the local government administration. Their presence underscored a collective commitment to stabilizing Orsu and ensuring the safety of its residents.

Speaking at the event, CP Aboki Danjuma, representing the Inspector-General of Police, commended Sir Terry Onyejiaku for spearheading the division’s reconstruction as part of his corporate social responsibility (CSR). He described the initiative as a crucial investment in the security of Orsu and a testament to the role private individuals can play in community safety.

The Commissioner further assured residents of the unwavering commitment of the Imo State Government, led by Governor Hope Uzodimma, to restoring lasting peace in the area. He urged displaced residents to return, emphasizing that robust security measures have been put in place to protect lives and property.
