POLICE ARREST SUSPECTED GUN RUNNER IN DELTA, RECOVER AMMUNITION
The Delta State Police Command has arrested a suspected gun runner identified as Chief Otuya Josiah for supplying weapons to a certain Mike Omoruyi in the State.
The suspect, 57, confessed to be renting arms to Omoruyi for N50,000.
Omoruyi was arrested around 12.45pm on June 15 when security operatives were on patrol along Obiaruku/Umuebu road.
The security personnel recovered one Lar rifle without magazine, one fabricated AK 47 rifle, one Air rifle, one Pump action, one English double barrel gun and two toy guns from him.
Similarly, security operatives in the State arrested a certain Monday Igwe. He was arrested on June 16 following credible intelligence that there were gunshots in Owa-Alero community.
Security personnel stormed his premises and recovered two (2) locally made cut-to-size pistol. He confessed that a certain Frank Ewere, 32, supplies him cartridges.
Hia confession also led to the arrest of one Ngozi Elelegwu, 39, of Anslem Street off Ogbocho road by General Hospital Owanta. one (1) locally made double barrel gun and three (3) live cartridges were recovered from him.

He admitted to have sold twelve (12) live cartridges to Frank Ewere Mafile at the rate
of six thousand five hundred naira (N6,500).
Monday Igwe also confessed that he bought the arms at Nnewi in Anambra State at the rate of thirty thousand naira each (N30, 000.00).
All suspects have been arrested and transferred to the state criminal investigation department for further investigation.
