POLICE NEUTRALISE 2 KIDNAPPERS, RESCUE ABDUCTED VICTIMS IN KWARA
Following the abduction of one Afusat Lawal (female) and her son Taofeek Lawal on September 13, 2022, at about 2320hrs in Shao, Kwara State.
Operatives of the command embarked on an intensive and painstaking search and rescue operation which led to the Kidnappers being accosted in the bush while sharing the ransom collected from the family of the victims, upon sighting the operatives, they opened fire. During exchange of fire, two of the kidnappers suffered gunshot injuries and were taken to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital where they were later confirmed dead.
Exhibit confiscated from the kidnappers includes one Honda Accord Saloon car, one single barrel gun and an unspecified amount of money.
Effort is still being intensified by the operatives to get other fleeing members of the gang arrested.
Meanwhile, the rescued victims have been reunited with their families after being certified medically stable.
