SECURITY OPERATIVES FOIL ATTACK ON POLICE HEADQUARTERS IN IMO STATE
Security operatives on Sunday June 6 foiled an attack on the Police Headquarters in Imo State.
The assailants were disrupted in the early hours of Sunday morning by the security operatives.
The joint military personnel engaged them in a gun duel and recovered two AK-47 rifles, a white coloured bus. A search is ongoing to arrest the fleeing criminals.
This comes less than 72 hours after gunmen on Thursday June 3 killed three unarmed civilians in the Orji area of Imo State.
There have been unprecedented attacks on Government facilities in the Eastern region, with Imo State being the epicentre of these attacks in recent days.
Security formations, INEC offices, Correctional centres, amongst others have all been attacked in the region, while several residents have been killed and others injured.
