TROOPS KILL BOKO HARAM TERRORISTS, DESTROY HIDEOUTS
Troops of the Air Task Force (ATF) of Operation LAFIYA DOLE, on June 27, 2020, attacked several structures of the Boko Haram Terrorists and killed their fighters at Warshale in the Northern part of Borno State.
This is coming barely two days after the troops, in an air operation, destroyed a Boko Haram Terrorists’ logistics base and killed scores of their fighters at Tongule and Bukar Meram villages in Borno State.
Maj. Gen. John Enenche, Coordinator, Defence Media Operations disclosed this in a statement on Monday, June 29, 2020.
Enenche said the operation was achieved through airstrikes executed on 27 June 2020 as part of subsidiary Operation LONG REACH after credible intelligence reports as well as days of aerial surveillance missions.
The General, according to intelligence reports, said the settlement was being used as a staging area to launch attacks against friendly forces’ locations and surrounding civilian settlements.
The Air Task Force deployed a force comprising of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) fighter jets as well as an Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) aircraft to engage the location.
The NAF jets scored devastating hits in their multiple waves of attacks resulting in the destruction of several structures in the settlement as well as the neutralization of some of the terrorists, Enenche said.
Similarly, in a separate statement, on June 20, the troops killed several Boko Haram Terrorists and immobilized one of their gun trucks at Bula Korege, a terrorists' logistics distribution centre, on the fringes of the Sambisa Forest in Borno State, Eons Intelligence reported.

The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, commended the ATF for their dedication and professionalism towards their effort in bringing an end to terrorism and banditry in the regions.
The Defence Headquarters urged them to intensify the air offensive against the terrorists and all other criminal elements threatening the peace and security of our beloved country.
