US PRESIDENT JOE BIDEN REVERSES ORDER BANNING ENTRY OF NIGERIA AND OTHER MUSLIM COUNTRIES INTO THE COUNTRY
US President, Joe Biden, has reversed the order banning entry of Nigeria and other Muslim countries into the country.
Recall that last year, Trump issued an immigration ban that applied to six countries, including Nigeria and three other African nations.
Trump’s initial muslim ban in January 2017 caused outrage at airports across the nations as people from mostly muslim-majority nations were barred from entering the United States.
However, Jake Sullivan, President Biden’s National Security Adviser, told newsmen that the order directs the State Department to return to normal processing of applications for people who have been impacted by the bans.
"NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOSEPH R. BIDEN JR., President of the United States, by the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, including sections 212(f) and 215(a) of the Immigration and Nationality Act, 8 U.S.C. 1182(f) and 1185(a), hereby find that it is in the interests of the United States to revoke Executive Order 13780 of March 6, 2017 (Protecting the Nation From Foreign Terrorist Entry Into the United States), Proclamation 9645 of September 24, 2017 (Enhancing Vetting Capabilities and Processes for Detecting Attempted Entry Into the United States by Terrorists or Other Public-Safety Threats), Proclamation 9723 of April 10, 2018 (Maintaining Enhanced Vetting Capabilities and Processes for Detecting Attempted Entry Into the United States by Terrorists or Other Public-Safety Threats), and Proclamation 9983 of January 31, 2020 (Improving Enhanced Vetting Capabilities and Processes for Detecting Attempted Entry Into the United States by Terrorists or Other Public-Safety Threats). Our national security will be enhanced by revoking the Executive Order and Proclamations," Biden said on Wednesday.

With the stroke of a pen, Biden has halted funding for the construction of Trump's border wall, reversed his travel ban targeting largely Muslim countries and embraced progressive policies on the environment and diversity that Trump spent four years blocking.
President Biden also reversed several of Trump's attempts to withdraw from international agreements, beginning the process of rejoining the Paris climate accord and halting the United States' departure from the World Health Organization -- where Dr. Anthony Fauci, the Government's top infectious disease expert, will lead the US delegation.
His first action was to impose a mask mandate on Federal property, a break in approach to dealing with the pandemic from Trump, who repeatedly downplayed the virus. Biden also installed a coronavirus response coordinator to oversee the White House's efforts to distribute vaccines and medical supplies.
He Reversed his predecessors' attempt at withdrawing from international agreements, halted the United States' departure from the World Health Organization and stopped the funding for the construction of Trump' border wall.
Biden is also proposing a sweeping immigration bill that would provide a pathway to citizenship for roughly 11 million people living illegally in the US, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki, said Wednesday night that the President had sent the text of his proposal to Congress.

These and many more is part of an aggressive push by the President to roll back some of the most controversial actions of his predecessor and chart a new course for the nation.
