KIDNAPPERS OF ZAMFARA SHARIAH COURT JUDGES DEMAND N20M RANSOM
A week after the abduction of two Zamfara Shariah court Judges, the kidnappers have demanded the sum of N20 million for their release.
The Judges, Salihu Abdullahi and Shafiu Jangebe, were abducted on their way back to Zamfara from Maradi in Niger Republic, on Friday, September 4, according to The PUNCH.
A brother of one of the kidnapped Judges, Mallam Hassan told Punch correspondents that the kidnappers had contacted them and requested N10 m for each of the Judges.

He added that the families of the victims are still negotiating with the kidnappers but "they are not ready to reduce anything."
While lamenting that the families couldn't raise the amount, Hassan urged the People of the State to join them in prayers.
The State Police spokesman, SP Mohammed Shehu, also confirmed the incident, however said the he had no information on where the Kidnap happened.

He said, "We didn’t get any information on where the kidnap took place. There was no report on the incident.
"However, the Police have been sent to the area in to fish out those kidnappers with a few to rescuing the kidnapped judges."
