FORMER POLICEMAN ARRESTED IN BAUCHI
The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested a former Policeman who is a serial motorcycle snatcher.
The culprit, Makama Musa, 34, was a sergeant before his dismissal from the Force.
The Police spokesperson in the State, Ahmed Wakil, confirmed this in a statement made available to reporters in Bauchi yesterday.
He said Makama was arrested wearing a Police uniform along Bauchi-Dass Road.
Wakil added that his arrest followed a series of complaints from residents of the area.
“The dismissed sergeant was arrested wearing a police uniform along Dass Road following a series of complaints by the residents of the area. The suspect confessed to the crime,” the Police spokesperson said.
According to the spokesperson, the exhibits recovered from him are a Neon blue shirt and black trouser, Device rank of sergeant and Police badge, and a Boxer motorcycle with number plate DBM-319-UR, Bauchi.
He said the Commissioner of Police, Lawan Jimeta, directed that the case be transferred to the State Crime Investigation Department for further investigation after which the suspect would be charged to court for prosecution.
