INSECURITY: PROVIDE FUNDS FOR RANCHING- NORTHERN GOVERNORS APPEAL TO FG
Northern Governors have appealed to the Federal Government to provide funds for the establishment of ranches across the country.
Simon Lalong, the chairman of the Northern Governors' Forum (NGF), who made the appeal on Tuesday, said ranching offers the "only way to control the insecurity" in the country, particularly with the rise in banditry and cattle rustling, as well as the recent quit notices issued to herders across the country.
The NGF chairman who is also the Governor of Plateau state said members of cattle herders associations across the country as well as other stakeholders were on board with the idea of ranching but needed funds.

“When you start restricting people, you must provide alternatives,” he added.
