DELTA POLICE NEUTRALIZE FOUR SUSPECTED KIDNAPPERS IN JESSE, RECOVER ONE WEAPON
No fewer than four members of the kidnapper gang have been neutralized by the operatives of Delta State Police Command in a gun duel engagement at Jesse-Igueleba, Edo State.
The information available indicates that the kidnappers have been exercising their illicit activities along Jesse's axis. Tactically, the Special Anti-kidnapping and Cyber Squard (SAKCCS) and DOPS Bufallo team were deployed to clamp down on the activities.
Following the tactical deployment, the operatives on a patrol exercise on 18th September 2023 encountered the armed kidnapping gang, and laid siege in the bush to kidnap the unsuspected motorists. They swiftly shot at the police pickup car leading the patrol, resulting in its demobilizing. The operative in answer to the call engaged them in a gun duel, shot at them brutally till they pursued them into the deep forest. During the operation, four of the kidnappers were fatally wounded and were arrested, they were taken to the hospital for treatment which they later certified dead.
One AK47 rifle with twenty-five rounds of live ammunition was recovered.
