EBUTE METTA VIOLENCE: POLICE ARREST TWO CULTISTS, RECOVER WEAPONS

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested two suspected cultists who attacked individuals and wreaked havoc in the Ebutte Meta area of the State. 


 On Wednesday, at about 11 am a gang of youths believed to be cultists fomented trouble at Herbert Marcauly/Ondo Street in the Ebute Metta area where they attacked individuals, dispossessed them of their properties, and damaged properties. 


The arrested suspects are 39 years old Tunde Rosanye and Muyideen Ayede, who is aged 20.

Police disclosed that a locally-made short gun, some live and expended cartridges, 2 cutlasses, 3 knives, one mobile phone and a small bag were recovered from them. 


The suspects have given useful information to the police and efforts are on to apprehend other fleeing members of the gang.

CP Hakeem Odumosu, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police has ordered that the suspects be moved to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, Yaba, for proper investigation. He also assured Lagosians that the other gang members would be apprehended and brought to book, adding that all hands will be on deck to consistently fight crimes and criminality, especially cultism and gangsterism in the state.
