POLICE ARREST SERIAL KILLER CULTIST IN IKORODU, RECOVER AMMUNITION

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a serial killer cultist identified as Segun Agodo in Odongunyan area of Ikorodu, Lagos State.


Agodo was arrested by police operatives attached to the Sagamu Road Division led by the DPO who were on surveillance patrol around Ikorodu on Sunday, 4th April, 2021 around 10am.


In a statement by the State's Police PRO, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the suspect is a senior member of the Eye Confraternity, and had been on the run since he got word that he is wanted by the police for his criminal activities in the area.



The Police PRO, who revealed that Agodo was alleged to be responsible for the killing of a policeman in Ikorodu, was arrested with two (2) locally-made revolver pistols, each loaded with seven (7) and fourteen (14) rounds of cartridges, one axe, some cutlasses and assorted charms.



In a similar development, security operatives attached to the Alakuko Division of the command arrested a certain Sola Akinwole, 27, on Friday April 2 around 5.30am.



The suspect was arrested alongside his syndicate while robbing a car/motorcycle shop at Amje Bus Stop, Alakuko, Lagos State.


Upon receiving the distress call that the syndicate were operating, security operatives dashed to the scene, arrested the gang, and recovered one Locally-made pistol and four (4) cartridges from the criminals.



However, the armed robbers had shot one of the security guards identified as Tairu Baba, 20, at the shop before the police detectives arrived.

Security operatives attached to the Festac division also arrested a certain Jonas Nnubia, 43, on Saturday April 3 around 3pm for molesting his wife's 15-year old niece at 1st Avenue, L Close, Festac, Lagos State.



The victim claimed that Jonas had defiled her on several occasions and wanted her not to disclose it to anyone or else he would kill her.


She has been taken to the hospital for medical examination and the police have commenced discreet investigation into the case.


CP Hakeem Odumosu, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, has ordered that the arrested suspects should be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for proper investigation and possible prosecution.


Recall that the Police boss said at the beginning of the year that he was not going to tolerate any form of criminality in the State, particularly cultists who are the major cause of crimes and vices in the State.


He also vowed to liaise with Lagos State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development and other interest groups in combating the menace of gender/domestic violence in the State.
