Troops of Operation HADIN KAI Neutralize 24 Boko Haram Insurgents, Recover Weapons in North-East Offensive

In a series of coordinated counterterrorism offensives between July 4 and 9, 2025, troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), supported by the Air Component and reinforced by the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) and local hunters, successfully neutralized 24 Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists across multiple theatres in the North-East, while recovering arms, ammunition, and logistics equipment.

The operations, which spanned Borno and Adamawa States, were launched in response to intelligence reports and aimed at dismantling terrorist strongholds, intercepting movement corridors, and disrupting logistics supply lines.

On July 4, troops ambushed insurgents mounted on bicycles near Platari as they moved from the Sambisa Forest towards the Timbuktu Triangle. The encounter led to the elimination of three terrorists. On the same day, another ambush in the Komala area resulted in the death of one insurgent. Troops recovered motorcycles, knapsack sprayers, pesticides, and food supplies during follow-up operations.

In the Kawuri area of Konduga LGA, a night ambush led to the neutralization of two logistics operatives linked to the insurgents. Troops also recovered bags of salt, detergents, and other essential supplies.

On July 5, troops intercepted insurgents attempting to infiltrate the Madarari Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camp in Konduga. One terrorist was neutralized, and several rounds of ammunition were recovered.

Another successful operation took place at Leno Kura, where three insurgents were killed in a coordinated fighting patrol, while troops continued to comb the area for fleeing fighters.

Further ambushes were executed on July 6 at strategic crossing points along Ngoshe–Gava, Ngoshe–Ashigashiya, and Amuda–Gava routes, leading to the death of one terrorist. On July 7, based on actionable intelligence near Sabsawa village, troops neutralized two insurgent logistics couriers and recovered bicycles, slippers, torchlights, batteries, and various household items.

A joint clearance operation with CJTF and air support at Bula Marwa on July 8 resulted in the elimination of one terrorist and the destruction of their life-support infrastructure. Weapons and uniforms were also seized.

In Adamawa State, at Pambula village in Madagali LGA, troops engaged terrorists in a firefight that led to the death of one insurgent and the recovery of four motorcycles and a weapon. Troops maintained pressure by conducting further exploitation in the area.

On July 9, troops again stormed terrorist enclaves in Tangalanga and Bula Marwa, where three insurgents were killed during an intense gun battle. Six AK-47 rifles, 47 magazines, and 90 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition were recovered, and the terrorists’ camp was dismantled.

In another joint operation in Ngailda, Manjim, and Wulle villages, six insurgents were neutralized and several motorcycles and bicycles were seized during exploitation of the area.

These operations, which culminated in the neutralization of 24 insurgents and the destruction of several enemy camps and logistics routes, underscore OPHK's ongoing commitment to rooting out terrorism and restoring security in the North-East. The Nigerian military affirms that these successes will create an enabling environment for peace and socio-economic development across the region.
